with lower combustion temperatures you run more boost and much more timing advance, which are the main contributors to the power gains. Also, my E-fan works fine, and IMO is a better setup than the stock fan due to the ability to run 100% at idle if necessary, which will provide more cooling than the OEM fan at idle. I don't know where that tidbit came from (didn't see any post history of an e-fan), but if it is done properly there are no issues.
